Troubleshooting your UGO Micro SD® card

Micro SD card is inserted into UGO but no music plays

Solution

Make sure the power button is in the 'ON' position.

Songs must be in MP3 format.

Use 16GB card or smaller

Check that the battery is charged.

Try Pressing the Pause/ Play button.

Make sure SD® card is inserted with printing up. Push it in until it clicks into place.

How to load songs onto a Micro SD card

Solutions

First, ALL songs must be in MP3 format. Other formats, such as, WAV, AIFF, AU, FLAC, OGG, AAC, etc.; require an Audio Converter. We recommend the following audio software converter for both MAC and Windows computers:

Using an Android phone to transfer files and Mac OS

  1. Remove cover from back of phone.
  2. Insert Micro SD® card into empty SD® slot. Disregard this step if there is already a card in the slot and you wish to use this card.
  3. Plug phone into a USB port of the computer with the same cable you use to charge the phone.
  4. Swipe your phones screen downward and select USB Connected. Then select Connect USB Storage.
  5. This will open two folders on your computers screen. They will be labeled NO Name. The contents of one of the No Name folders will be almost empty but will contain a sub folder called ‘Lost Dir.’ open this folder.

    The other No Name folder will have many folders inside it. You can transfer music files to this folder too, but this folder is your Sim card and if removed from the phone your phone will no longer function

  6. Open ITunes or other folder containing music files. Drag the files you want to transfer from iTunes into the Lost.Dir folder. Make sure the music files you want to transfer are in MP3 format.
  7. When you are finished transferring music files to the ‘Lost.Dir’ folder Select Disconnect USB storage from your phone. After you have disconnected USB storage from your phone be sure to eject both of the NO Name folders. Do this by right clicking the folder icons.
  8. Remove the Micro SD card from your phone and insert into the UGO Speaker. Music will play automatically when you turn the UGO on.

Using an Android phone with Windows OS to transfer files

  1. Remove cover from back of phone.
  2. Insert Micro SD® card into empty SD® slot. Disregard this step if there is already a card in the slot and you wish to use this card.
  3. Plug phone into a USB port of the computer with the same cable you use to charge the phone.
  4. Swipe your phones screen and select USB Connected. The select Connect USB® Storage.
  5. At this point there are several ways to transfer music files to the SD card. The simplest way is to open your music files. Select the files you want to transfer. Right click on these files. Scroll down to Send To and select removable Disk (F:) The files will automatically transfer.

Using the adaptor that came with the Micro SD card with Windows OS to transfer files

  1. Insert the Micro SD® card into the adaptor. It should go in easily. Do not use force.
  2. Locate the Micro SD® card reader slot on your computer. This is usually located near the USB® ports. Insert the adaptor containing the Micro SD® card into the slot.
  3. At this point there are several ways to transfer music files to the SD card. The simplest way is to open your music files. Select the files you want to transfer. Right click on these files. Scroll down to Send To and select removable Disk (F:) The files will automatically transfer.

Using the adaptor that came with the Micro SD card with Mac OS to transfer files

  1. Insert the Micro SD® card into the adaptor. It should go in easily. Do not use force.
  2. Locate the Micro SD® card reader slot on your computer. This is usually located near the USB® ports. Insert the adaptor containing the Micro SD® card into the slot.
  3. This will open two folders on your computers screen. They will be labeled NO Name.   6. Remove the Micro SD® card from your phone and insert into the UGO Speaker. Music will play automatically when you turn the UGO on.
  7. When finished be sure to eject both of the NO Name folders from your computer. You can do this by right clicking the folders and selecting eject.

Using the Mini UGO and your computer to transfer music to a micro SD® card

Solution

With MAC OS X

  1. Put the micro SD® card into the Mini UGO card reader slot.
  2. Use the charging cable that comes with the Mini UGO and plug it into your computer.
  3. Turn the Mini UGO's power button to on.
  4. A folder will appear on the desk top of your computer screen. It will be labeled No Name.
  5. Open the No Name folder and drag the music files in to the folder.
  6. When finished eject the No Name folder from the computer before unplugging the power cord. You can do this by right clicking the No Name folder and choosing eject. Put the SD® card into the UGO. It will be ready to play.

With Windows OS

  1. Put the micro SD® card into the Mini UGO SD card reader slot.
  2. Use the charging cable that comes with the Mini UGO and plug the speaker into your computer.
  3. Turn the Mini UGO's power button to on.
  4. Open your music files and select the files you want to transfer.
  5. Right click on the selected files
  6. Select 'Send To'
  7. Select the folder called No name. It might also be called drive (E:)
  8. When finished unplug the Mini UGO from the computer. Put the SD card into the UGO. It will be ready to play.

How to reformat an SD card

Solution

With Mac OS using MINI UGO or Android Phone

  1. Put an SD card into the Mini UGO or Android Phone
  2. Connect the charging cable that comes with the Mini UGO and plug it into your computer.
  3. In Spotlight or by using the Finder - open disk utility.
  4. In the column on the left in the disk utility window select NO NAME.
  5. Select erase.
  6. From the drop down menu that appears confirm erase.
    This will erase all files from the SD card. It is ready for new files to be loaded.

With Windows using MINI UGO or Android Phone

  1. Put SD card into the Mini UGO or Android Phone.  (If using a Bluetooth UGO skip this step and continue to step 2)
  2. Put the adaptor with the SD card inside into your computer. Most computers have a dedicated slot that fits the adaptor.
  3. Select the windows symbol
  4. Select computer.
  5. Select the folder called NO NAME
  6. Select erase.
  7. From the drop down menu that appears confirm erase.
    This will erase all files from the SD card

With Mac using included adaptor

  1. Put SD card into the adaptor
  2. Put the adaptor with the SD card inside into your computer.
  3. In Spotlight or by using the finder - open disk utility.
  4. In the column on the left select NO NAME.
  5. Select secure digital storage
  6. From the drop down menu that appears confirm erase.
    This will erase all files from the SD card

With Windows using included adaptor

  1. Put SD card into the adaptor
  2. Connect the charging cable that comes with the Mini UGO and plug it into your computer.
  3. Select the windows symbol
  4. Select computer.
  5. Select the folder called NO NAME
  6. Select erase.
  7. From the drop down menu that appears confirm erase.
    This will erase all files from the SD card
